It Was Only After I Wrote This That I Figured Out What A “LunchBox” Was
Recently, as I was bopping around online, I ran across a business called “ LunchboxWax.” Strange name, right? But check out what this rather unique franchise business does.
The LunchboxWax® wax business is an automotive franchise where customers bring their vehicles in for a one-hour high-quality wax while they wait. Now this is where it gets interesting.
Evidently, customers are encouraged to bring in their own food to eat or they can order lunch/dinner in the LunchboxWax dining car, while professionally trained wax technicians work their speed waxing magic. The result? LunchboxWax customers leave with a full belly and a vehicle that looks shiny and new.
So what do you think? Is that a business you’d visit?
“Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Breathe… in through nose, out the mouth. Wax on, wax off. Don’t forget to breathe. Very important. Wax on, wax off. Wax on, wax off.”
Mr. Miyagi, from The Karate Kid

Inside The Mind Of The Franchise King®
According to Jeannine ( wife) and Grace ( daughter), my synapses don’t always pass messages between neurons correctly. I’m told they get a bit jumbled. That may be what happened here. Let me explain.
I’m a car guy. I love cars. Loud cars. 0–60 mph times. Torque. Braking distances.
That probably explains why, after running across a business named LunchboxWax, the first visual my brain came up with was automotive-related. Turns out my visual was severely flawed. Why is that?
Because LunchboxWax is not an automotive franchise.
Not only that, I recently learned what part of the (female) body a Lunchbox is-according to LunchBox Wax, and a comment I read on the company’s Facebook Page.
The LunchboxWax® Wax Business
In reality, LunchboxWax is a waxing service franchise. Waxing as in, “ hair removal.”
To clarify, the business has nothing to do with shiny, freshly waxed Solid Black Tesla S’s.
“At LunchboxWax, we believe that beauty is much more than just your external appearance — it’s how you feel about yourself. With our personal care services, you’ll be pampered in a safe, respectful environment. Our waxologists offer a range of waxing services for everybody.”

Oh.
It just so happens that the founder, Debi Lane, launched California’s first salon entirely dedicated to waxing in 2010. Her wax business became so popular, she turned it into a franchise business in 2013. As of this writing, there are 50+ locations open with several more in the pipeline.

Wait. What About Lunch?
The waxing business is growing.
A number of factors are contributing to this growth, including the growing number of men who are willing to pay for hair removal.
As for lunch, I have no idea if LunchboxWax customers are encouraged to bring their lunches or dinners in with them.
Although enjoying a nice meal at the time of service would probably be an excellent distraction.
P.S.
Dear Debi,
By now you’ve probably read the post I wrote about your wax business. And you may be angry.
I want to apologize for wrongly describing your franchise business. I’m an idiot.
So as a gesture of goodwill, I would be more than happy to try out your body waxing service. Just let me know when you open a LunchboxWax wax business near me. I’ll even write a review for you ( I’ll add it to the post I wrote).
As a final point, I look forward to my first body waxing experience (not really). Maybe we can meet someday.
Best of luck, and I hope you open a lot of franchises! Let me know if I can help.
